How to View LIVE Noise Map
View the LIVE Noise Map for a specific date and display either the Nuisance level or Decibels for each noise report.

1. Select a date from the dropdown calender.

2. Select either Nuisance or Decibels to be shown on each house.

3. Click the SHOW MAP button to show the latest Noise Map with your selections.

4. The map will open and show a house at each Noise Report location.

When there are no Noise Reports for a specific date, the map will be empty. On the lower right corner we show the map Date and type of data shown.

On a PC, move the pointer over a house to view the full noise report including Outdoor and Indoor sound decibels, comments and the distance to the music venue.

How to Submit a LIVE Noise Survey Report


A. Enter your home LATITUDE. (Close to 39.040000) .
B. Enter your home LONGITUDE. (Close to -104.800000) .
(For privacy you can provide coordinates in proximity such as middle of street if desired.)
C. Enter both an OUTDOOR and INDOOR noise nuisance score on a 0 to 3 scale as follows:

0 - No nuisance. Not Noticeable. No venue noise.
1 - Low nuisance. Lightly noticeable. Low noise.
2 - Nuisance. Noticeable. Moderate Noise.
3 - High nuisance. Very noticeable. Strong noise.

D. Enter optional sound DECIBEL levels dB(A) outdoor and/or indoor.
E. Enter optional DETAILS such as a the nuisance caused, date, name of show, wind, clouds, elevation or any other information.
F. Click the SEND REPORT button. You will see a confirmation message.
G. To clear the form use the CLEAR FORM button.

HOW TO UPDATE A REPORT: Simply submit a new Live Noise Report Form using the exact same Latitude and Longitude.
Updates can only be done before midnight on the same day as the original report. You can update a LIVE noise report on the same day as many times as you want.

HOW TO DELETE A REPORT: Enter the Latitude and Longitude of the original Noise Report and click the DELETE button on the Delete form. A LIVE noise report can only be deleted before midnight on the same day it was submitted.

NOTE: Keep a record of the exact Lat/Long coordinates entered on a Noise Report because you will need them to Delete a noise report using the DELETE form provided on this page.

With the LIVE Noise Map you can upload a noise report and view map updates in real time while the noise is happening. Each LIVE Noise map shows noise reports for a single day. LIVE Noise Reports can be submitted and posted on the daily map between 7:00pm and Midnight on the same day that the noise is occurring.

The LIVE Noise map shows a noise nuisance map for a specific date. You can view LIVE Noise maps for today, yesterday or any past date using the calender provided on the form.

LIVE Noise Reports must be submitted and saved on the same day the noise is occurring between 7:00pm and midnight. Outside these hours you will get a message saying your report was not saved.

FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is noise?
"Noise is unwanted and/or harmful sound, first recognized as a public health hazard in 1968. Chronic noise, even at low levels, can cause annoyance, sleep disruption and stress that contribute to cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, metabolic disturbances, exacerbation of psychological disorders and premature mortality. Noise interferes with cognition, and learning, contributes to behavior problems, and reduces achievement and productivity". (Source: American Public Health Association, apha.org)

2. What is the LIVE Noise Map?
The LIVE Noise Map is a map showing noise nuisance reports for a single day and corresponds to one event at the Ford amphitheater in Colorado Springs, CO. Noise reports for the LIVE Noise Map can be submitted here only on the same day as the noise event. In other words, you cannot submit a LIVE noise report on the next day or a week latter. You can update or delete your LIVE noise report until midnight on the day it was initially posted.
The idea of LIVE noise reports is to capture and save your noise nuisance report while noise is being heard and can more accurately be described or measured. These LIVE reports are saved with a date so you can view LIVE Noise maps for specific dates anytime you want.

3. Why should I submit a LIVE noise report?
Those who submit LIVE noise reports are sharing their noise nuisance level with neighbors and others in real time and everyone has an immediate idea of noise levels in different areas while it is happening. Although noise is a serious issue, sharing experiences on a map with neighbors can be fun and a way of registering and protesting the loud noise annoyance in north Colorado Springs. Unlike random noise reports on social media, a noise map provides a tangible view of what is really happening on the ground in homes and what areas are affected by the noise on a particular day. It is also a record of noise nuisance that can be used to protest the noise issue from the amphiteater and gives a voice to those affected.

4. Can I update a LIVE Noise Report?
Yes, you can update a LIVE Noise Report by resubmitting the report form using the exact same Lat/Long coordinates. You can update e report only until Midnight on the same day as the original report. If you change the Lat/Long coordinates when resubmitting a Noise Report it will be saved as a separate noise report. The ability to update a report is useful for example if the noise level and annoyance changes or gets worse after your initial report. This also encourages users to post and share LIVE noise reports early in the evening knowing that they can change it later if necessary.

5. Can I delete a LIVE Noise Report?
Yes, you can delete a LIVE Noise Report using the Delete form. You can only delete a LIVE Noise Report until Midnight on the same day as the original report. And remember to use the exact same Lat/Long coordinates when deleting a LIVE Noise Report. If you enter the wrong Lat/Long you will receive an error message and your report will not be deleted.

6. How can I remember my exact Lat/Long coordinates after posting a LIVE noise report?
When you submit a noise report you will get a confirmation message on your screen that shows your Lat/Long and other information. Save a screenshot or print this message and use the same Lat/Long coordinates for posting, updating or deleting all future noise reports from the same location.

7. Can I post a LIVE Noise Report on days when there is no noise or even a concert at the amphitheater?
Sure, you can post a LIVE Noise Report on any day even if there is no noise or event happening. Enter a 0-0 nuisance score and mention in the comments that there is no event. You can also for example post the silence or background noise level in decibels dB(A) or any other relevant information you want to include. Or just say Hi! This is a way to practice your noise reporting skills and explore the map. You can also post, edit and delete noise reports to practice your skills and learn how to use the reporting features on this webpage with no stress.
